The Retreat: A Life Well Lived (Pilot Retreat — Fall/Winter 2025)

Come home to yourself. In sacred circle. In community. In Tucson.

This retreat is not a break from life. It’s a return to it.

Gather with a small circle of like-hearted leaders for two deeply intentional days of reflection, connection, and personal renewal. We’ll explore the life you’ve lived, the one you’re living now, and the one you still long to create.

Using metaphor, story, sacred space, and Dori’s signature coaching tools, we’ll walk together through the cycles of life—naming endings, welcoming beginnings, and meeting yourself with compassion at every stage.

Inside this retreat, you’ll:

  • Locate yourself in the seasons of your own life

  • Make peace with the past, anchor into the present, and imagine what’s next

  • Be seen and witnessed in a circle of trust and truth

  • Practice creating inner and outer sanctuary

  • We’ll begin our time together by preparing and sharing a meal—hand to heart, hand to table. This isn’t just dinner; it’s the sacred beginning of our circle. As we cook side by side, we’ll soften into presence, set the tone for the weekend, and begin forming connections rooted in authenticity and trust. There will be laughter, stories, and grounding. We’ll share intentions, name what we’re carrying in, and make gentle agreements for how we’ll walk together in this space.

  • Our full-day gathering is a guided immersion into the cycles of a life well-lived. Using metaphor-rich tools like Dori’s Torso Exercise, The Cycles of Life Worksheet, and reflective prompts from a favorite source of inspiration (it’s a surprise), you’ll locate yourself in the personal, professional, practical, and spiritual seasons of your life. We’ll explore the parts of you that want to be reclaimed, honored, or released—while being witnessed in a community of deep heart and high trust. Expect real conversations, soulful pauses, and transformational insight.

  • For those who choose to stay, Sunday offers a casual morning circle to breathe, reflect, and integrate. It’s a space to ask final questions, share what’s landed, and articulate your “JOT”—Just One Thing—you’ll carry forward. We’ll close our time with tenderness and clarity, leaving you grounded, resourced, and reconnected to who and what matters most.

  • We will be in communication prior to the retreat, and, here are a few things to note…

The Retreat will be primarily indoors but plan on a mix of indoor and outdoor activities; check your weather app for local conditions near the time of the Retreat.

If you are a notetaker, you will need to bring a journal or notebook and pen.

Meals and snacks during retreat hours will be provided. If you have special dietary concerns or allergies, please let us know and we’ll make a reasonable effort to accommodate these; we will share a menu of offered meals for the retreat prior to it so that you can prepare in advance should you need to provide your own meals or snacks.

As in any intimate working retreat space, there may be difficult or challenging conversations during our explorations, so come into the space knowing that. Vulnerability is courage in action…we encourage that.

While your participation is encouraged, you get to decide at all times what, when and whether or not to share. This is not (group) therapy.

Here, every participant is held as naturally creative, resourceful and whole. Our working assumption is that each of us is a leader, at the very least, in our own lives; and that none of us is broken and none of us needs to be fixed.

We are here to rediscover our center, to continue navigating back to our true and whole selves, to return to wholeness.

All participants will be asked to authorize a Retreat Agreement in advance of arrival to clarify expectations and ensure that this is a safe place and stable environment. We want everyone to understand and be in agreement with basic standards of presence.

As for what the retreat will look like each day, we will have a mix of meditation/contemplative time, teaching, parts work, cycles of life work, reflection/journaling breaks, discussion, and more, all in a confidential, sacred space.

We encourage you to come in a child’s mind and growth mindset, willing to play, explore, pause, be uncomfortable, stretch into the unknown, and notice what you’re noticing. Come as an explorer, open to adventure, to the inner contemplative journey and to the outer process of building conscious community and meaningful, satisfying relationships.

You will walk away with more self-compassion, clarity and confidence, in who you are now, who you are becoming and what your next, right step forward may be. You will walk away feeling more grounded, resourced and connected to who and what matters most to you now.
